About
Welcome to St. Cecilia, where faith feels like family.
Since 1880, St. Cecilia has been more than just a church in Independence, Kentucky, it’s been a place where generations gather, grow, and belong. Today, with over 625 families, we are proud to be the largest Catholic parish community in Independence, but what truly defines us isn’t our size, it’s our spirit.
At St. Cecilia, you’re never just a face in the pew. You’re part of a vibrant, welcoming family. Whether it’s through our active ministries, Knights of Columbus, men’s prayer groups, or countless opportunities to serve and connect, there’s always a place for you here. And yes, we take fun seriously too. From our popular monthly trivia nights to community events throughout the year, there’s always something bringing us together.
Our parish is also home to a thriving K–8 school right on campus, where faith and education go hand in hand. Families don’t just attend St. Cecilia, they grow here, learn here, and build lifelong friendships here.
Guiding our parish is our beloved pastor, Father Harry Settle, who has been leading our community with heart and dedication for the past five years. His energy and care for parishioners are a big part of what makes St. Cecilia feel so alive.
And then there’s our festival, the heart of our tradition and a true Northern Kentucky staple. What began in 1919 as a simple parish chicken dinner has grown into the largest church festival in the region. Every year, thousands come from near and far for our famous chicken dinner, free concert series, and the excitement of raffling off a brand-new Corvette. It’s not just an event—it’s an experience, and a celebration of everything that makes St. Cecilia special.
Faith-filled. Family-centered. Full of life.
That’s St. Cecilia.
And once you’re here, you’ll understand why so many people are proud to call it home.
