Wolf Run Wildlife Sanctuary

Wolf Run is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit wildlife sanctuary that has been saving innocent lives since 1985. As a USDA and Kentucky licensed facility, we have cared for an incredible variety of animals over the years, from primates to African lions. As time passed, our mission evolved toward helping the wildlife most often forgotten and misunderstood.

Today, our primary focus is on carnivores, especially wolves and wolf-dogs. These animals often fall into a heartbreaking gray area, too wild to thrive as household pets, yet unable to survive on their own in the wild. Countless wolf-dogs lose their lives before reaching even three years of age simply because their owners were unprepared for the challenges they present.

Located on 15 beautiful acres in Jessamine County, Kentucky, Wolf Run is the oldest sanctuary of its kind in the state. We are proudly operated entirely by volunteers, meaning donations go directly toward the care, feeding, medical needs, and housing of the animals, not payrolls.

With the support of the public, we will continue our mission of offering safety, compassion, and lifelong sanctuary to as many innocent animals as possible. 🐾
