Towering sunflowers, colorful zinnias, cosmos and other late-summer blooms invite visitors to slow down, wander the rows and create bouquets that are uniquely their own. A Tradition That Doesn't Last Long
One of Kentucky's biggest celebrations of the season happens at Thomas Dairy Farm & Market in Cecilia, where the annual Sunflower Festival fills five acres with more than 150,000 blooms. Guests can explore dozens of sunflower varieties, cut their own flowers and enjoy one of the state's signature late-summer traditions. The last festival date for the season is August 9, so grab your tickets now before it’s too late!
Around the Commonwealth, other family farms have embraced the growing popularity of U-pick flowers, each adding its own twist to the experience:
