Pride Month Is In Full Color!

Pride Month Is In Full Color!

Kentucky’s Pride Month calendar is looking especially busy this June, with celebrations popping up everywhere from Northern Kentucky to Richmond and Louisville. What used to feel concentrated in a few major cities has grown into a statewide mix of festivals, live entertainment, community events, and seriously colorful weekends.

Things start June 6 with LatinX Pride, hosted by La Casita Center, bringing music, dancing, food, art, and LGBTQ+ visibility together in a celebration rooted heavily in culture and community. The event has built a reputation for feeling energetic and welcoming without losing the local connection that makes it stand out. Expect live performances, vibrant crowds, and plenty of reasons to stay longer than originally planned.

Then on June 7, NKY Pride returns, hosted by the Northern Kentucky Pride Center. Northern Kentucky’s Pride celebration has grown quickly over the last few years, and this year’s festival continues that momentum with vendors, entertainment, advocacy groups, and more. The atmosphere leans more neighborhood festival than giant corporate event, which honestly works in its favor.

Richmond And Louisville Bring The Big Crowds

On June 13, the 6th Annual Richmond Pride Festival takes over Central Kentucky, hosted by Richmond Pride & JustFundKY. The festival continues getting bigger each year with local vendors, live entertainment, food trucks, artists, nonprofits, and community organizations spread throughout the event.

Then on June 20, Louisville’s Kentuckiana Pride Festival and Parade, hosted by the Kentuckiana Pride Foundation, turns Waterfront Park into one giant celebration. Between the parade floats, live music & drag performancesfood vendors, packed sidewalks, and downtown crowds, it’s easily one of Kentucky’s biggest Pride weekends of the summer.

A few things Kentucky Pride events are doing especially well this year:

  • Highlighting local artists, performers, and businesses
  • Creating events that feel community-driven and welcoming
  • Bringing Pride celebrations into more cities across the state
  • Mixing entertainment, advocacy, culture, and nightlife into one packed month

By the time June wraps up, Pride Month in Kentucky feels less like a single event and more like a statewide celebration with each city adding its own personality to the calendar.
