Morehead’s Got a Gourd Thing Going!

Morehead’s Got a Gourd Thing Going!

Morehead is stretching fall fun across three full days this year, with fair rides, giant inflatables, live music, a petting zoo and plenty more packed into Halloween weekend at Morehead City Park.

Three Days, Plenty to Do

The Morehead Harvest Festival runs October 30 through November 1, giving families an entire weekend to work with. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.

New for 2026 are fair rides geared toward younger kids, teens and families, including a fun house. All-day ride wristbands are $20, while a separate $20 wristband covers more than a dozen giant inflatables, including bounce houses, slides, games and obstacle courses.

For younger festivalgoers, the free petting zoo may be the bigger draw. The lineup includes a pony, sheep, cows, kangaroos and other animals, with feed available for purchase for anyone determined to leave with a few four-legged friends.

The festival’s event lineup also keeps music running throughout the weekend. Silver Dollar Band plays Friday evening, while Saturday features Bryan James Hatton, Miranda Deem, 7Turn and Whiskey Ridge. Sunday brings back Hatton before Tiffany Porter and Ashley Kidd & Servants Heart close out the musical schedule.

Sunday Slows Things Down a Little

Sunday adds an Old Fashioned Day to the weekend, giving the festival a more traditional harvest-season feel after two busier days of rides and entertainment.

Vendors, games and other festival activities round out the schedule, making the weekend easy to approach in pieces. Families can come for rides and inflatables one day, return for live music another, or simply wander the park and see what catches everyone’s attention.

That may be the best part of giving Morehead three days to celebrate. Halloween Saturday gets the longest hours, but the festival does not disappear once the costumes come off. By Sunday afternoon, there is still music playing, vendors open and plenty happening around City Park.
